Veterans Aid and Attendance
You have served your country; now let Custom Caregivers serve you.
The Veteran’s Homebound Aid and Attendance is an added rating which offers special benefits for veterans, and their spouses, who require regular assistance of a caregiver to help them in preparing meals, bathing, dressing and undressing. This offers care of incontinence needs, medication reminders and other such personal activities. This benefit is available to homebound individuals as well as those residing in Senior Living Facilities, Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Communities.
Further, Aid and Attendance is paid in addition to the monthly pension or compensation benefits. To qualify, your physician helps you to determine that you require daily assistance by others to get dressed and undressed, walking, bathing, cooking, eating, taking on or off of the prosthetics, or for transportation.
A simple form is used for your doctor to fill in, and this will open a higher rating in order to assist you with your needs through Custom Caregivers. This would offer a higher monthly income and open the opportunity for you to get approved for other in-home care needs. We are thankful to the Veterans Administration over our armed forces for this service to our veterans, and their spouses.
Any War-Time Veteran with 90 days of active duty, 1 day beginning or ending during a period of War, is eligible to apply for the Aid & Attendance Improved Pension. A surviving spouse (marriage must have ended due to death of veteran) of a War-Time Veteran may also apply. The individual applying must qualify both medically and financially.
Custom Caregivers has retained the services of Karen Hershey, a Veteran Claim Assist, to help our war veterans to attain a higher rating and added benefits for their care.
